My friend Tin.

No words can explain how crazy fun she is! She has an absolute zest for life and happiness that radiates out of her. We have gone on countless food trips (Gloria Maris hot pot!!) and surf trips (Pagudpud!) and I'm looking forward to more. :)

Here are her nine things.

1. I am obsessed with tinted lip balms and lip stains. As soon as I see a new one come out I just have to try it. But my all time favorite which can always be found in my kikay kit since 2004 is MAC's lip conditioner in Virtuous Violet.  It keeps my lips moisturized and a pretty shade of pink and it has a very mild yummy flavor to it. :)
2. I cannot live without my Blackberry. Ever since Barrack Obama refused to give up his Blackberry when he was elected president, I told myself I had to get one just to see what all the fuss was about  and now I can't live without one. Of course I had to have it in pink!!
3. I am always at the beach and one of the things i cannot live without is a surfboard. How boring life was before I started surfing!
4. Whenever I go about during the day having lunch with my friends, buying groceries or running errands, I am most comfortable in flat open toed sandals. I simply cannot have enough of these footwear that I practically live in.  They're just so comfy and practical to wear!
5. I hate cold weather!! Anything below 15 degrees is absolute torture for me which is why i love the tropics! We are sooo lucky to be living in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Really! I feel so blessed :) Bali in Indonesia though is a very close 2nd to my heart. The food, the culture and the SURF!!! Here's a photo of Ulu Watu. Beautiful spot!!! 
6. One of the cheapest and quickest pick me ups is a splash of a scent that we love and one that brings a smile to my face is this lovely citrus fragrance by C.O. Bigelow in New York :)  BANGO!!!!!
7. My all time favorite movie is one of a well planned revenge played out carefully in a emotional trial by victims of child abuse and rape. Galing ng delivery ng cast and who could've played them better than Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, Kevin Bacon... Need I say more?? favorite movie of all time, SLEEPERS!! 
8. There are few things that I love more than the pleasure of eating. I LOVE FOOD!!! Food brings people together, brightens your mood, has the power to nourish and destroy you, pero don na lang tyo sa nourish part :) so here's one of my favorite dishes of all time. LECHON. If you want to be my friend all you have to do is give me lechon and friends na tyo :) 
9. AND last but not the least, there is really NOTHING in this world more important than family. The people God has put in our lives for us to love and care for whether we like it or not! hahaha Sometimes it's more torture than pleasure but really, the best, most rewarding feeling in the world is to know you have a family that loves you and will always stand by you no matter how much you fuck up (excuse my french). And even at my lowest and saddest of times, I know I am never alone for as long as I have my family and there is notthing in this universe that comes close to the feeling my family brings to my heart :)

Here are his 9 current obsessions:

1. Breaking Bad - I caught on the series late but now I'm addicted. You never know what's going to happen next.
2. Steve McCury - His portraits reveal the souls of his subjects through their eyes like no other photographer. His photography makes me want to travel to far off places and experience the world.
3. Leica X1 - It has the power of a DSLR w/ classic Leica design and Leica glass and it fits in my pocket. The X1 has been my go to travel camera when I don't feel like packing my Canon 5D Mark II.
4. Saturdays Syrf NYC - The surf and coffee shop that made surfing cool in NYC. You can find me here Saturday mornings getting my cafe latte, chatting with the friendly staff and catching up on the latest styles.
5. Wes Anderson - My favorite director of all time. Looking forward to his latest movie "Moonrise Kingdom" in 2012.
6. Radiohead - Finally seeing them live in 2011 cemented their place as on of my favorite bands of all time, coming very close to Beatles status. Thom York is a genius.
7. Paia - The sleepy little utopian town along the Hana Highway in Maui might just be the happiest place in the world. I hope to live there someday.
8. Quoddy - I have 4 different pairs of shoes from the footwear brand that's handsewn in Maine, USA. My favorite is the Maliseet.
9. Bikram Yoga - I was late to the yoga party and my body is thanking me after putting it through years of torture lifting weights. Namaste.

nine things: jab

My friend Jab. One of my best friends. I have known him since I was 5. Five! He's sort of like the my boy version. We like the same music, we both love the outdoors (him the mountains, me the ocean), we both would choose hanging out rather than clubbing, etc.

Right now, he's actually living our barkada's childhood dream. Travel. Experience the world. Soon, we will all join you!!

I haven't known Kim for a long time but I really enjoy her company! She's easy to be with and so fun and just  such a cool girl. Not to mention gorgeous! She has a show on ETC called Etcetera which features stuff about style, beauty, tv, web & youth. Really cool so check it out!

1. Madeleine Peyroux - she makes me feel like I'm somewhere in France next to a fireplace.
2. Christmas fairy lights. Goes well when paired with my first obsession.
3. Morocco- I have wanted to visit there for the longest time! 2012 perhaps :)
4. Maxi skirts/dresses - my go to outfit when I'm feeling yucky/lazy (thanks for my latest addition to my wardrobe nix)
5. Learning Tagalog!! Yes I'm obsessed. I want to know already!
6. Chamomile tea - nothing caps off a long day like a warm mug of tea!
7. Fresh flowers - underrated! I love walking into my condo with the smell/sight of fresh flowers greeting me!

nine things: cathy

I have known Cathy since I was 4. Wow, 23 years of friendship! We've gone through LOTS of ups and downs (downs like her poking my eye with a pencil in kinder, downs like boy troubles! haha...or ups like scream therapies while driving thru the city). We don't always like the same things, and move around the same circles nowadays but as my fellow kulot, she's one of the few people who truly know me inside out and will never judge me no matter what.

here are her current obsessions :)

1. All I want for Christmas is Jennifer Meyer's "C" Pendant Necklace.
2. Korea! I cannot wait to go back: food + fashino + culture + advencha = win. The beauty products are awesome as well. BB Cream changed my life, hahaha, lately, a good part of my saturdays are spent in a Korean language certificate course. Annyeong haseyo!
3. Silhouette cameo -- my newest baby. I'm a paper craft geek and this die cutting machine works wonders.
4.  Extremely Close & Incredibly Loud (Jonathan Safran Foer). I Had to read it again after catching the trailer of the movie version to remind me of what I loved about it.
5. Alain de Botton's tweets. (twitter.com/alaindebotton). Daily words of wisdom in 160 characters or less from on of my favorite thinkers.
6. This look. Working my way towards that hair color and gravitating to mostly browns and neutrals for clothes. (photo from thesartorialist.com)
7. Trader Joe's chocolate crisps. I. Just. Can't. Stop.
8. Nature Republic's Extreme Liquid Eyeline. Nothing compares, this is my weapon of choice.
9. www.etsy.com - love the stuff you can find there! when (ha!) I find the time, I want to make and sell stuff there too! :)

nine things: tamara

Tamara, a make up artist and stylish gal who can pass as my sister, shares my love for fashion and love for the ocean. We've gone on countless unforgettable road trips together with our families and laughed about the shallowest crazy things. :p

- Here are her nine current obsessions -

1. This one's pretty obvious: Makeup! (forever obsession hehe)
2. Gong Cha Milk Winter Melon Tea (this is the best milk tea i've tasted so far! try it!)
3. Getting my first tattoo (still thinking of what to get but i know i need to get it soon:p)
4. Re-decorating my room (project with you ate nix! ;) ) 
5. helping my mom start up her pastry business (watch out for this one! :>)
6. Youtube Makeup tutorials. If i need instant inspiration, youtube never fails! so many talented makeup gurus on there. my favorites: The Pixiwoo sisters and Lisa Eldridge. Check them out :)
7. TV series. Current loves: 2 Broke Girls, Vampire Diaries, and New Girl. 
8. Hawaii- I'm just so in love with this state! It's really paradise :) plus my sister and her family lives her so more reason to visit!
9. Travelling- It is my greatest dream to travel around the world. I have wanderlust in my veins! But before heading out to other countries, I'd love to travel around the Philippines first. our country has so many beautiful and magnificent places! Cant wait :D

This is my soul sister Nina! She's one AWESOME interior designer, one of the funnest surf buddies and one of my best friends. We discovered each other a few years ago and have become inseparable since. We are too alike!

Here are her nine current obsessions :)

1. learning how to noseride effortlessy (or at least looking like I'm not trying)
2. Japanese subway tile for my projects. It's sooooo hard to look for it in Manila!
3. To bangs or not to bangs?
4. the FANTASTIC windows at Bergdorf-Goodman located at 5th Ave in NYC. (more photos here)
5. Snowflakes cupcakes that i plan to bake/ give away for Christmas. I hope it happens!
6. the body of Behati Prinsloo! she's been a regular desktop wallpaper, alternating between kassia meador & beyonce for thin-spiration!
7. the monochromatic wardrobe palette of Karen Walker
8. The hypnotic & captivating (well, at least for me) art of Nena Saguil
9. and of course, i obsess about my Takayama because I'm always counting the days til I get to ride & play w/ it again in the ocean! :-)

nine things: ndp

taking a cue from miss moss (missmoss.co.za) and noelle hilario's 'what's in your beach bag?' (wanderlustdrifted.blogspot.com), i decided to do my own "things i like right now" section for my friends. It's also one way of getting to know more about my friends too! 

First, here are my 9 current obsessions :)

1. Since my friend Mia brought up the topic about a euro trip next year, I've been (trying to) save for it! So far, so NOT good, but hey. It's a goal worth keeping!
2. I've been wanting to get new ink for the longest time, and right now it's leaning towards getting alibata (the traditional Filipino writing system). Pinoy pride!
3. Those round aviator-esque sunnies are awesome.
4. I want to get a faux-fro. An afro perm if you may.
5. I want (need!) the perfect pair of leopard print ballet flats!
6. Since I'm in the process of re-vamping my personal space, I thought of getting a eucalyptus plant to make the place nicer and also for more oxygen & less mosquitoes! Now, the goal is to not let it die.
7. berry (straw or rasp) trifles! easy peasy and so yummy!
8. The ultimate logging goal: the hang ten.
9. This may not be a current but a forever obsession, but just feeling the sun on my face is magic. :)
